Install & first use
1
Get the extension folder

Download or copy the extension folder from your gateway operator onto this machine, and keep it somewhere permanent — Chrome loads it from that path.

2
Load it unpacked

Open the address below, enable Developer mode (top right), press “Load unpacked” and select the extension folder.

chrome://extensions
3
Pin it

Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin the extension, so its button is always at hand.

4
Open the pairing link

When a pairing needs a passkey, the webhook below delivers a link. Click the extension icon and paste that link into the field above.

PasskeyRequest → ceremonyUrl
5
Approve the gateway once

On first use the browser asks for access to your gateway’s origin. It is asked once per gateway; “Forget approved gateways” revokes it.

6
Sign

The WhatsApp tab comes forward and the browser prompts for your passkey. If a code appears afterwards, confirm it matches the one on your phone.

7
Updating

An unpacked extension does not update itself. After replacing the folder’s files, press the reload arrow on the extension’s card in chrome://extensions.

You are about to authorise linking a device on:

Only continue if YOU started this. Anyone who gets you to sign here can link THEIR device to your WhatsApp account — and the confirmation code will still match, because the device being linked really is theirs.
